Meet Rodney C. Burris

Educator, National Speaker, Youth and Family Advocate, and Entrepreneur; these are some of the words used to describe Rodney Burris. In addition to a wide range of career experience, the common thread among all his ventures is a strong desire to strengthen communities.

Mr. Burris holds a BA in Psychology from the Johns Hopkins University and an MS in Management of Nonprofit Agencies from Capella University. This education opened the door for Rodney to facilitate workshops and educational sessions for national audiences large and small, ranging from elementary/high school/collegiate students to senior level management. He is deeply rooted in neighborhood empowerment and has tutored struggling students, encouraged area leaders to become more involved in the community, and reconnected fathers with their children, advising them on parenting and life skills. His expertise includes speaking to audiences about life after graduation, future careers, positive decision making, constructive communication, goal-setting, credit awareness, financial budgeting, and community involvement.

Rodney is also an avid promoter of business development and entrepreneurship, which is personally evidenced through such ventures as The R-Squared Group, LLC; Immaculate Conceptions, LLC, Dream Big; and Burris Construction, LLC. As with all his workshops, the business and entrepreneurship sessions are designed to leave attendees equipped with tools to effectively access and utilize resources, and with an encouraged sense of direction. Through these sessions, Rodney is able to educate, enhance, and direct individuals towards establishing and accomplishing their goals. His combined knowledge of non-profit experience and business-startup has been used to assist scores of interested learners.

Though he is known in the community as an advocate and educator, his family knows him best as "daddy". He is happily married to his college sweetheart, Danielle. Together they are the proud parents of three children; Aaliyah, Micah, and Jaydah.
